EU welcomes agreement on gas between Ukraine and Russia

BRUSSELS. January, 19. KAZINFORM /Yerzhan Ospanov/ Czech Presidency of the European Union welcomes the achieved agreement on gas between Ukraine and Russia, Kazinform correspondent reports.

?We welcome the progress achieved in negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. But we still remain realistic. We have seen several such moments over the past few days. Resumption of gas supply is the main thing for the European Union?, is said in Minister of Industry and Trade M. Rzhiman?s statement. The Minister expressed concern that even in case of a rapid restoration of the transit of gas through Ukraine ? it will still take several days for gas to reach the EU?. The Czech Minister also noted that the unanimous stand of the European Union at the International conference (January, 17, Moscow) on resumption of gas supply to Europe provided for achievement of the agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
