MINSK. April 26. KAZINFORM The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) insists on complete abolition of the sanctions against Belarus, reads an EEC statement sent to BelTA.

"The Eurasian Economic Commission calls on lifting unjustified trade barriers contradicting the international law and urges total abolition of the sanctions," the EEC statement reads. The commission "is seriously concerned over the expansion of the sanctions against the Republic of Belarus that is member of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space".

Besides, the EEC emphasizes that in view of tight economic cooperation of Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia, such sanctions can result in losses to the Customs Union companies. "They also hamper productive and mutually beneficial cooperation and are detrimental, first of all, to economic operators and ordinary citizens because they create artificial barriers in trade and business," the statement reads.

The EEC calls on all the countries that have imposed the sanctions, including the European Union, "to stop using economic pressure and engage in a dialogue based on mutual respect to resolve interstate disputes".
