Eurasian Intergovernmental Council sitting kicks off in Almaty

The sitting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council started its work in Almaty with the participation of heads of government of the Eurasian Economic Union member states – members of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Among those attending are Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov, 1st deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kassymaliyev, Russia’s Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The heads of government visited the Digital Almaty-2024 digital exhibition that displays digital projects of more than 300 Kazakhstani and international IT companies and leading international digitalization experts.

Those present are expected to focus on the current state and prospects for the development of the EAEU integrated information system, an action plan for the development of favorable conditions for the development of intra-EAEU e-trade, and integrated cooperation of the EAEU railways.

As earlier reported, on January 1 Armenia assumed the chairmanship over the Eurasian Economic Union governing bodies to preside within a year in the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, and Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
