European parliamentarians praised Kazakhstan's policy in field of interethnic concord

ASTANA. November 3. KAZINFORM Kazakh Commissioner on Human Rights Askar Shakirov has met with a delegation of the Social Democratic Party of the European Parliament visiting Kazakhstan in order to familiarize with its activity as the OSCE chairman, the press service of the Ombudsman reports.

A.Shakirov told the deputies of the European Parliament about the main directions of the state activity in the field of human rights, including the issues of modernization of the legal base and law enforcement practice, interaction with non-governmental and international organizations, legal education of population.

The European parliamentarians highly appraised the policy of Kazakhstan in the field of interethnic concord, provision of rights and freedoms of national minorities, religious tolerance, and complimented the positive development dynamics of the Kazakh-European partnership in different fields.

The participants of the meeting expressed assurance that successful presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE and coming OSCE Summit in Astana would give additional impetus to further development of the Organization.
