European Union welcomes Israeli decision on unilateral fire cease in Gaza

BRUSSELS. January 19. KAZINFORM/ Yerzhan Ospanov/ Czech Presidency of the EU Council welcomed Israel?s decision on the unilateral cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip and urged Hamas to immediately and unconditionally support the truce, Kazinform correspondent reports.

A guarantee of security for the civilians should become the priority according to the document. ?The necessary humanitarian aid including food, fuel and medicine should be delivered to Gaza strip quickly and without delay?. In this connection the European Union Presidency urged the Israeli Government to immediately and fully open the border with Gaza in order to help its people. EU also expressed its readiness to assist in the establishment of independent, democratic Palestinian state.
