Ex-President of Romania delivers lecture at Kazakh Agro-Technical University

On the threshold of the forum he took the floor to deliver a lecture on strengthening of the strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Romania and prospects of mutual cooperation between the two countries in the field of education and science, the press service of the university reports.

His lecture generated intense interest among students and professors of the university. The ex-President of Romania thinks Kazakhstan plays the key role in reviving the ancient trade route between West and East - the Great Silk Road. The decision of the Romanian leadership to support Astana's bid to host the international exhibition EXPO-2017 will offer new opportunities of expanding cooperation between the two countries in all spheres of economy.

During the lecture, the Romanian politician touched upon the development of integration processes in the sphere of education, science, youth policy and agriculture.

Emil Constantinescu was the President of Romanian from 1996 to 2000. During his visit to Kazakhstan in 1999 he awarded President Nursultan Nazarbayev the Order of the Star of Romania, the highest civil order to the country, for his merits in promoting the bilateral relations.
