Exhibition in Samarkand to feature cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan and China

On November 24, the exhibition “Silk and Silk Roads – From Hangzhou to Samarkand” will open in the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve, UzA reports.

The exhibition will include 86 objects from the collection of the Samarkand Archaeological Institute named after Y. Gulyamov, the Samarkand State Museum-Reserve, and the China National Silk Museum in Hangzhou.

This fall, the China National Silk Museum hosted an exhibition of Asian costumes, “Colorful Asia,” dedicated to the 19th Asian Games. Then, the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan presented 20 exhibits from the collection of museums in the country to the local public.

At the Samarkand exhibition, the China National Silk Museum will display 26 exhibits, including silk samples, a tapestry loom, costumes, and other products made from silk fabric from the Qing Dynasty.

According to the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the exhibition “Silk and Silk Roads – From Hangzhou to Samarkand” will run until September 15, 2024.
