Experience exchange in education of special importance today: German Ambassador

Central Asian Congress "Education in Development" taking place in Almaty provided an opportunity to exchange views with its participants from Central Asia, Kazakhstan and Europe. German Ambassador to Kazakhstan Rainer Eugen Schlageter told a Kazinform correspondent during the work of the Congress.

"The Congress takes place in the Kazakh National University named after Al Farabi as long as it is an authoritative platform for dialogue. The participants address issues of higher education reforming within the innovative economic development and tasks set before this sphere", the diplomat said.

He also noted that this event implemented one of the most important dimensions of the EU Strategy for Central Asia adopted in 2007 - the education sphere. The activities are conducted in line with the tasks of the state program of Kazakhstan "Path to Europe". "The Congress indicates opportunities and potential of Central Asia in education development, hence the human capital. This is one of the provisions of Kazakhstan's program of OSCE chairmanship. It realizes the tasks of the third basket - humanitarian dimension", Principal of language department of Goethe Institute in Almaty Susanne Becker said.

The organizers of the Congress are Goethe Institute (Kazakhstan), Kazakh National University named after Al Farabi with the support of the German Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, Kazakh and German Foreign Ministries.
