Experts to discuss amendments to CIS Agreement on mutual security of inter - state secrets

ASTANA. January 21. KAZINFORM. The meeting of the expert group on revising and harmonizing the draft Protocol on amendments to the Agreement on mutual security of the inter – state secrets will take place in the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth of the Independent States in Minsk on January, 22-23, 2009, Kazinform refers to the press-service of the Committee.

The draft Protocol was developed by the Executive Committee of the CIS together with Anti -Terrorist Center of the CIS in accordance with the Program of cooperation in the struggle against terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism for 2008-2010. Its necessity is caused by the lack of modern regulations governing the protection of classified information in the CIS. The Agreement on mutual security of the inter - state secrets was adopted on January 22, 1993 at a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of Governments in Minsk. The document was signed by 10 states.
