EXPO-2017 - a new impulse for Astana and Kazakhstan: British MP Charles Hendry

The Kazakh diplomat thanked the British Government for its support of Kazakhstan's bid to hold the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 in Astana. In the course of the meeting it was noted that exhibition in Astana would be a great contribution to the development and use of alternative energy forms as well as a wonderful chance to showcase the world's best technologies and promote energy efficiency programs and new solutions.
In addition, Mr. Zhoshibayev noted that the British Government had included Kazakhstan into the list of 14 priority countries to promote trade and attract investments and appointed the Prime Ministerial Trade Envoy to Kazakhstan. Both Great Britain and Kazakhstan would eventually benefit from it.
Charles Hendry, in his turn, hailed Astana being chosen as the host city of the EXPO-2017. According to the British MP, the upcoming event will give an additional impulse to the development of Astana and Kazakhstan as the absolute leader in the Central Asian region. The British politician confirmed his Government would do its best to enliven trade and economic relations with Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the sides also touched upon the development of tourism infrastructure in Kazakhstan and how British experience could be used in that respect. Kazakhstan looks forward to active participation of the British businesses in the preparations for and running of the international specialized exhibition EXPO-2017 in the field of alternative energy, construction and tourism.
