Expo celebrating para-athletes unveils in Kazakh capital

A photo exhibition themed Astana-Paris 2024: Handisport Olympics and Paralympic Games opened in the Kazakh capital to celebrate France’s National Holiday on the eve of the Olympic Games. It is organized by the Kazakh National Paralympic Committee, the Embassy of France in Kazakhstan, Astana akimat, and the sports center for people with physical disabilities, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The expo features 22 sports disciplines, of which 21 are included in the 2024 Paralympic Games program. 50 photographs are on display. The first part of 30 portraits illustrates Kazakhstani paralympic champions. Some of them will defend the country’s colors at the Paralympic Games in Paris set for August 28 and September 8.

Around 4,500 Paralympic athletes are expected to vie for top honors at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
