Express-K newspaper general director laid to rest in Almaty

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - General director of Express-K newspaper Alexei Pan was laid to rest in Almaty city on Friday.

According to his co-workers, Mr. Pan was not only a good manager, but also a kind-hearted person. "I met Alexei when we started working for Karavan newspaper together. He will always be remembered as a good and respectable person," Chairman of the Kazakhstan Writers Union Seitkazy Matayev told Kazinform correspondent. Alexei Pan died of cardiac arrest aged 57 in Goa. He bravely tried to save children who were drowning in local waters, his spouse confirmed. After graduating from the Kazakh State University, Pan worked for Ogni Alatau and Karavan newspapers. In 2008 he was appointed general director of Express-K newspaper.
