The centre will be managed by the NGO My House, which will provide shelter, psychological support and legal consultations to women who are victims of domestic violence.

The ambassador of Japan in the Republic of Kazakhstan Masayoshi Kamohara and UNICEF Representative in Kazakhstan Jun Kukita attended the opening of the centre. "I hope this centre will solve the problems of domestic violence," said Mr. Masayoshi Kamohara at the centre opening ceremony. This is a wonderful example of synergy and fruitful partnership which resulted from UNICEF's idea, support from the Embassy of Japan and implementation by the local talented professionals. We are sure that this family support centre for victims of violence will provide shelter for women and children, and will also become a new chain in the development of the community based on effective social protection system. The assistance provided here will help women and children to avoid violence, get rehabilitation and, we hope, find the way to a safer life, " UNICEF Representative Jun Kukita said at the opening ceremony, UNICEF Office in Kazakhstan reports.
