ALMATY. December 15. KAZINFORM /Yelena Ilyinskaya/ Famous Kazakh scientist and writer Nemat Kelimbetov has died at the age of 73 in Almaty.

A farewell ceremony will be held in the Kazakh State Philharmonic Society named after Zhambyl in Amaty at 10.00 a.m. on December 16.

N.Kelimbetov was born in 1937. He is an honored science worker of Kazakhstan, Ph.D. (Philology), professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences. Mr. Kelimbetov is also a well-known turcologist, author of several books, has recently been honored with prestigious award of the Franz Kafka Society under the auspices of the UNESCO for his autobiographic novel. His creativity was estimated by international community for important contribution to strengthening cooperation in the sphere of culture between Europe and Asia.
