Fashion show and documentary about a group of seniors from Almaty showcased in Dubai

The presentation of the documentary Dolgaya zhizn (Longevity) capturing a story about the members of Almaty azheleri (Almaty’s Grandmothers) group from Kazakhstan as one of its plot lines took place in Dubai, the UAE, Kazinform News Agency correspondent reports.

The documentary was written and directed by Olga Sapozhnikova.

As part of the event, Almaty’s seniors also showcased their fashion collection Ak kerbez as well as shared secrets for a longer life, staying healthy and optimistic at any age.

Among the attendees were the officials from the Kazakh embassy in the UAE, Dubai Municipality Head Office, culture and healthcare figures, as well as a large number of spectators interested in active longevity.

The senior models group Almaty azheleri also presented their fasion collection at the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum.

It’s worth noting that the group Almaty azheleri was founded at the Active Longevity Center in Almaty.

Almaty’s administration office said in a statement that the event contributed to cultural ties between Kazakhstan and the UAE and served as a reminder of maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle at any age.

To note, Almaty has 15 Active Longevity Centers, offering over 40 free-of-charge services, including educational programs, trainings, physical culture, yoga, dance classes and creative workshops. The Centers posted 6,073 visits in 2024, up from 833 in 2022.

As earlier reported, Kazakhstan and the UAE are keen on expanding transport and logistics cooperation.
