Fatal weekend: Five die in waters of Kazakhstan

ASTANA. August 5. KAZINFORM A 56-year-old woman drowned in a water channel in unclear circumstances in Bereke village of Almaty region on Saturday (August 3), the press service of the Kazakh Ministry for Emergency Situations said.

Her body was discovered at 12:10 local time on August 4 and removed from the water by local rescuers.

A 40-year-old man fell into a river while crossing a dam in the town of Atbasar in Akmola region on Saturday evening. The Akmola Emergency Department lifeguards found the body next day and pulled it out of the water.

The accidents on water with three men thought to be in their 50s also took place in Kyzylorda region, Kyzylorda city and southern Kazakhstan over the weekend.
