Final document on joint provision of security can be better-than-expected result of OSCE Summit - N. Bordyuzha
MOSCOW. November 25. KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ OSCE Summit in Astana can be called a breakthrough decision on the way toward reforming the activity of the OSCE and returning to the principles of the Helsinki Act. Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Nikolai Bordyuzha said it at a meeting with Kazakh journalists in Moscow on Thursday.
"The President, Secretary of State and Foreign Minister and other officials of Kazakhstan exerted every effort to organize this summit. Holding of the summit after 11 years deserves high appraisal of the efforts of Astana", Mr. Bordyuzha noted.
According to him, the fact that senior officials of all OSCE participating states and heads of international organizations will meet in Astana and discuss security issues in Central Asia and the whole Euro-Atlantic space is enough to declare the success of efforts of Astana.
"If it is possible to adopt a final document, which would give at least a way forward in the field of joint provision of security - it will be even better-than-expected result of the summit", the SCTO Sec-Gen stressed.
