Representatives of the three countries are supposed to verify the fulfillment of the agreement on establishing and using the procedure for calculating and distributing import customs duties and equivalent fees in the Customs Union by the Belarusian Finance Ministry.

It is the third time over the last few years that the Belarusian Finance Ministry has welcomed auditors from the three countries. They will verify whether in 2013 the Finance Ministry transferred the sums of import customs duties, which are to be distributed between the Customs Union member states, to accounts of the other sides in full and on time.

The audit is stipulated by the agreement on joint auditing signed by the relevant authorities of Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Russia.

The first stage of the audit ended in Moscow two weeks ago. After the second stage of the audit in Minsk is completed, the auditors will move onto to Astana.

Results of the trilateral audit will be used to analyze the operation of the mechanism used to calculate and distribute import customs duties in the Customs Union. The joint report will be discussed by the boards of the supreme financial audit agencies of Belarus, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
