Financing issue of garbage recycling plant construction in Astana resolved: Deputy Mayor

ASTANA. March 11. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ The issue of financing the construction of garbage recycling plant in Astana is resolved. Deputy Mayor of Astana Vasiliy Krylov has made it public at the 59th sitting of the Astana city Maslikhat held today.

"The cost of the garbage recycling plant in Astana is EUR 32 mln. Yesterday we resolved the final issue about the lack of EUR 6 mln," he informed.

As earlier reported, the construction of the garbage recycling plant in Astana is scheduled for mid-2011, however, the official launch of the enterprise has been planned for 2010. The construction of the project was dallied due to financing problems. The project will be implemented at the expense of the state budget.

The plant is expected to resolve the problem of solid waste and provide stability of the ecological system of Astana.

The plant is to be built within "Zhasyl Damu" program provide a number of measures on improving the ecological situation in big cities of Kazakhstan and the ecological security of the state in whole.
