Finland decides to join Charter of Green Bridge Partnership Programme
The meeting discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation as well as topical issues of the international agenda.
Nursultan Nazarbayev welcomed the first visit of the Finnish Parliament's chairman, noting that Kazakhstan is interested in the development of economic and political collaboration with the country.
"At the moment there are a number of arrangements that need to be considered by parliaments of the two countries to further develop our mutually beneficial cooperation. Achievements of Finland in recent years are impressive. We are ready to adopt your country's practices in the field of education, development and introduction of new technologies. Our industrial and innovative program offers opportunities for a number of Finnish companies to work in Kazakhstan", he said.
E. Heinäluoma noted the high level of relations between the two states and conveyed the greetings of the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö.
"A lot of Finnish companies are engaged in clean technologies including energy-saving and energy-efficient ones as well as "green" production of natural resources", said Eero Heinäluoma.
He expressed the willingness of 'Finnair', the national airline of Finland, to make direct flights between Astana and Helsinki.
In addition, the chairman of the Parliament of Finland spoke about his country's decision to join the Charter of Green Bridge Partnership Programme which is an initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
