Finnish mobile phone maker Jolla announces sales in Hong Kong
Jolla cooperates with mobile operator 3, Hong Kong's leading communications service provider, to sell its Sailfish OS smart phones. Up to now, Jolla has not revealed the selling price. Founded in 2011 by a group of ex-Nokia employees, Jolla is a Finnish mobile device design and development company based in Helsinki, Finland, Xinhua reports. The company has R&D sectors in Helsinki and Tampere, and an office in Hong Kong. The company is said to be establishing R&D operations in Chinese mainland. Jolla started to sell its first phones in Finland in November last year, and has expanded its sales to other countries in Europe. Earlier this month, Jolla announced that its products will enter the Indian market soon. Jolla smart phone runs its independent operating system Sailfish OS. Based on the heritage of Meego, an open source operating system formerly developed by Nokia, the Jolla smart phone offers a distinct user experience.
