First China-Kazakhstan-Europe transport caravan reached Kuryk Port

Presidents of Kazakhstan and China – Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Xi Jinping – discussed the journey of the first transport caravan on the China-Kazakhstan-Europe route, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The duration of the caravan’s journey via the Trans-Caspian Corridor is 10 days, while the length of the route is 4,800 kilometers. The caravan passed through eight regions of Kazakhstan and reached Kuryk Port today.

“The caravan of freight vehicles and a container train from China arrived at the ports of Aktau and Kuryk. They will leave for Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and European countries. This is the revival of the Great Silk Road. The caravan is ready to depart,” Chairman of the Transport Committee Altai Ali reported from Kuryk.
