First Deputy PM met with ambassadors of 18 EU states
The meeting discussed issues of functioning and prospects of the Eurasian Economic Union development. In particular, there was an exchange of views in the sphere of formation of common markets for electricity, oil and oil products, transit of goods, drugs and medical devices. The EU is the leading trade and investment partner of Kazakhstan. According to the National Economy Ministry, volume of mutual trade of Kazakhstan and the EU countries in 2014 amounted to $53.07 billion. This is 44.4% of the total trade turnover of the Republic of Kazakhstan. B.Sagintayev noted that the positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European countries reflects the commitment of our country to further strengthen and deepen cooperation with the EU. At the same time Kazakhstan as part of the EEU may become a unifying bridge between Europe and Asia.
