First-ever tour through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan by train to kick off

The Silk Road travel by train will start running through Almaty-Turkistan-Tashkent-Almaty on November 16, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Tourism and Sports Ministry.

The international four-day train tour package will help delve into the atmosphere of ancient cities and embark on a journey along the Great Silk Road. It will run through the key landmarks of Turkistan and Tashkent. The tour package includes a guide, food, transfer, sightseeing and admission tickets.

The unique travel by train is an important step for bolstering tourism and strengthening cultural ties between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. It will allow visiting one of the oldest cities in the territory of Central Asia, Otyrar, which was a key link in the trade chain, Arystan Baba Mausoleum, Azret Sultan Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, and Central Asia's largest multifunctional tourist complex Keruen-Saray.
