First government-funded crisis center opens its doors in Temirtau
A crisis center for people in need will open soon in Temirtau, Karaganda region, Kazinform News Agency reports.
This will be the first government-funded crisis center in Karaganda region.
The crisis center offers shelter and meals for families with children and domestic violence victims.
Governor of the region Yermaganbet Bulekpayev inspected the center on Saturday, October 21, 2023
“The center can accommodate up to 50 families simultaneously. People in need can live here for up to a year and eat four times a day in a canteen. The inmates will also receive social services, as well as medical, psychological and judicial support. Parents will be assisted in employment or undergoing a training. And children will be be abble to attend a school and ride a schoolbus,” Asel Nabiyeva, director of the crisis center, says.
The repair works began in September and will end soon. The opening of the center is slated for November.
The center will be equipped with everything needed – furniture, office appliances and equipment. Children’s playground and a sports ground will function in the territory of the center.
