First Kazakh-American mosque to be opened by year end

WASHINGTON. March 18. KAZINFORM The Kazakhstan-American Cooperation Organization will construct a mosque in Kazakhstan. It will be erected on the funds of the American Muslims and presented to the Kazakh nation. Construction of the mosque will become a unique event; Kazinform refers to the Organization?s press service.

For the first time in the US history Americans will erect the mosque abroad. This will open a new page in the history of the Kazakh-US relations and become an expression of a new political strategy directed to rapprochement of the USA with the Islamic world. Management of the Organization announced a tender on the best project of the new mosque. The Kazakh and American architectures will take part in it. The first Kazakh-American mosque will open its doors at the end of 2009. Famous state, political, religious figures of the USA and Central Asian states will be invited to a presentation of the new mosque.
