According to him, 1,446 service facilities along the roads are currently operational, with 90% of these facilities meeting national standards. This year, there is a goal to reach 100% compliance.

“Major investors such as QazaqOil, RoyalPetrol, and Compass are planning to build and modernize more than 400 facilities in order to create modern service facilities along the roads. At the same time, Petro Retail is developing a system of service facilities along the roads. 60 complex facilities are planned to be built by 2029, of which 10 projects will be implemented this year. The volume of investments will amount to 120 billion tenge,” said Minister Karabayev.

These facilities will boast rest areas, parking lots, and gas stations.

“Development of service facilities along the roads in the country will help shape the first national hotel chain and its franchise. This will not only affect the development of the transportation process, but will also contribute to the development of car tourism,” the minister added.

As reported earlier, Kazakhstan is to build 4,700 km of new national highways.
