According to Mr. Carrara the date is indicated in the documents agreed upon by the North-Caspian project and the Government of Kazakhstan.

"There are certain issues to be addressed. But the company is making every effort to fulfill this condition, " said U.Karrara.

It should be recalled that last fall in the interview to Kazinform the NCPOS Managing Director Hans Bakker stated that production would start before the first oil by the contract period, i.e. in March 2013, when at the beginning of the first offshore field during one day the production will rise to 75 thousand barrels of oil.

Under the agreement, if prior to December 1 the pilot production does not begin at the Kashagan field, Kazakhstan will not reimburse the consortium the funds allocated to the project.
