Flights delayed as Kazakh capital braces for heavy snow
The runway of the Astana Airport is temporarily closed down due to poor weather conditions and maintenance operations, Kazinform News Agency cites the airport’s press service.
It was shut down at 08:33 am. 10 units of specialized machinery are deployed in snow removal operations.
As of 10:27 am., six out of 70 scheduled flights are delayed, and 14 out of 68 arriving flights are also experiencing arrival delays, it said in a statement.

As earlier reported, rain and snow were forecast to batter Kazakhstan on January 21.
