Fog, ice-slick and ground blizzard to batter Kazakhstan

Mets issued a storm alert for 17 regions of Kazakhstan and the city of Shymkent, Kazinform News Agency cites Kazhydromet.

Abai, and Akmola regions are set to brace for ground blizzards with wind gusts up to 15-20 m/s.

Ice slick and fog are expected to grip Aktobe, West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions.

High wind is reported to sweep through Almaty and Zhetysu regions.

Ground blizzard is expected to roll through East Kazakhstan, Kostanay, Pavlodar, and North Kazakhstan regions.

Zhambyl and Karaganda regions are predicted to wake up to foggy streets.

Ice slick is forecast to form on the roads in Kyzylorda, Mangistau regions.

Fog is expected to blanket Shymkent in the morning and at night
