Food prices rising in Kazakhstan

ALMATY. KAZINFORM - The Kazakh Statistics Agency reports a 7% increase in food prices in July 2014, compared to July last year.

According to the agency, in July the price of sugar grew by 17.6%, dairy products - by 10.5%, flour -by 9.6%, fish and seafood - by 8.8%, coffee, tea and cocoa - by 8.7%, alcoholic beverages - by 8.1%, bakery and pastry products - by 7.9%, pasta - by 7.8%, fruit and vegetables - by 6.4%, bread - by 5.7%, confectionery products - by 6.4%, oils and fats - by 1%.

It is also noted that the increase in meat and meat products prices during the period amounted to 3%. The sausages prices grew by 9%, poultry - by 3.8%, horse meat, pork - by 3.7%, beef - 0.6%, and mutton - 0.3%.
