Football transfer rumours: Nemanja Vidic to Inter?

LONDON. KAZINFORM - With his contract set to expire this summer and reports suggesting the club he captains is disinclined to draw up a new one for him, Nemanja Vidic is feeling hurt, unloved and considering a move to pastures new, according to The Guardian.

Despite remaining a fan favourite at Old Trafford, the 32-year-old Serb with the piercing stare is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club because he's in the final six months of his current deal and is wanted by Monaco, Juventus and Inter. Walter Mazzarri's struggling Nerazzurri are apparently in the box seat to snap him up with the tempting offer of a two-year deal, albeit on about half his current £100,000 per week wages.

A month ago, Vidic's Mr 15% Silvano Martina gave a radio interview in which he said he did not expect his client to remain at Manchester United beyond the end of this season and pointed out there would be no shortage of takers for his services. "At the moment, I would rule out an extension with Manchester United," he declared. "Vidic, given his contract situation, has several teams looking at him. Vidic is a very good player and will have no trouble finding a new club. For the time being we are remaining calm."

In other good news for Manchester United fans, the Daily Star reports that moneybags Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to offer £40m for winger Adnan Januzaj in the summer, while the Express reports that United under Sir Alex Ferguson passed up the opportunity to sign Eden Hazard when he was available from Lille, on the grounds that they didn't think he'd be physically strong enough for Premier League football. The upshot? The Belgian wizard with the magic dust in his boots went to Chelsea and United ended up bringing Shinji Kagawa to Old Trafford instead. D'oh! In better news for the Old Trafford faithful, Bayern Munich midfielder and United target Toni Kroos has told Facebook friends that he's been unable to agree a new deal with the German champions.

The Daily Mail reports that Arsène Wenger is already drawing up his summer shopping list and depending on your news outlet of choice, it features strikers Edin Dzeko (Manchester City), Diego Costa (Atlético Madrid), Jackson "Cha Cha Cha" Martinez (Porto) and Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich); midfielders Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen) and difficult to spell right-back Lukasz Piszczek (Borussia Dortmund). Sleek, top end football machines all, but if his recent transfer activity is anything to go by, Wenger will probably miss out on the lot and end up with some reliable but slow-moving semi-knackered old Swedish Volvo that's seen better days and will need several weeks of TLC in the garage just to pass its MOT. Costa and Mandzukic are also believed to feature on José Mourinho's summer wishlist, alongside PSG's Uruguayan adonis Edinson Cavani.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Porto central midfielder Fernando has signed a pre-contract agreement with Manchester City, but might be banished from the first team and forced to train alone by his Iberian paymasters if he doesn't sign a new deal with them. Such a turn of events might jeopardise any chance the Brazil born naturalised Portuguese has of representing his new home in the forthcoming World Cup, but it's a sacrifice he's apparently prepared to make. Meanwhile back in north London, Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will be returning to his native France this summer, if PSG get their way ... which they usually do these days.

And finally, in managerial appointment speculation, eccentric former England manager Glenn Hoddle, eccentric former Athletic Bilbao manager Marcelo Bielsa and eccentric former Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp are the biggest names on the list of contenders to replace Michael Laudrup as Swansea City manager. Brighton manager Oscar Garcia, Everton assistant manager Graeme Jones and Hull No2 Steve Agnew also feature.
