Foreign institutions to present precise data on Kazakhstan citizens living abroad

KAZINFORM /Narymbek Ismagulov/ Official Representative of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Ashikbayev has informed the reps of the national and local mass media about the progress of the Kazakh National Population Census, 2009 carried out by foreign institutions at the briefing today, Kazinform reports.

According to Y. Ashikbayev the population census in Kazakh foreign institutions is held in two stages and covers more extended period from January 3 till March 1. Next population categories are subjected to the census in the foreign institutions of Kazakhstan: 1.Citizens of Kazakhstan working abroad in diplomatic and other representations of Kazakhstan including members of their family; 2.Cadets, students of military and other educational institutions studying abroad; 3.Citizens of Kazakhstan working abroad under the contract for more than a year term; 4.Citizens of Kazakhstan left for permanent residence and registered at the consular offices of Kazakhstan abroad. According to the data of the foreign policy administration the number of citizens of Kazakhstan registered in foreign institutions amounted to 13 629 people as of February, 13. As expected, most part of Kazakhstan?s citizens live in Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Germany and Tajikistan.
