During his speech, Minister Idrissov presented Kazakhstan's candidacy, and elaborated on Kazakhstan's approach to the UNSC agenda and recent political and socio-economic developments in the world. He emphasized Kazakhstan's commitment to the comprehensive security concept, that includes the interconnection and interdependence of security, human rights and sustainable development.

This context increases the importance of active collaboration of the UN Security Council with the other UN bodies, as the General Assembly, the Economic and Social Council, and the newly created High-Level Policy Forum on Sustainable Development. Effective decision at the food, water, energy, and nuclear security should become a basis for such interaction. This is the agenda for Kazakhstan to increase its activities at the UN.
