Foreign tourists spent $807.7 mln in Kyrgyzstan

According to estimates, revenues from receiving foreign citizens in January-September of this year amounted to 807.7 million US dollars, which is at the level of the corresponding period last year,  the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan informed, Kabar reports.  

According to data, in January-September 2024, 659 recreation facilities and tourism organizations, as well as 2,013 guest houses, received and served tourists.

In January-September of this year, the population was provided with tourist and excursion services for 3 billion soms, or 26.5% more than in the same period last year, health resort services - for 1.2 billion soms, which is 10.3% more.

The volume of services provided by hotels and other short-term accommodation facilities amounted to 4.2 billion soms, which is 21.4% more than in January-September 2023. The volume of services provided by restaurants and other catering establishments increased by 6.5%, amounting to 8.8 billion soms.

The volume of income received from tourist transportation amounted to 9 billion soms (in actual prices) and increased by 10.6% compared to the same period last year.

Industrial enterprises in January-September 2024 produced goods contributing to the development of tourism for 2 billion soms, or 18.7% more than in the same period last year.

At the same time, the volume of production of folk art and crafts increased by 3.1%, which was ensured by the growth in the production of national clothing, kalpaks, yurts, carpets and other various products (souvenirs, chess, backgammon, etc.). The production of sports and tourist equipment increased by 5.7%, which was ensured by an increase in the production of harness and saddlery, suitcases, travel bags and similar products. Mineral waters and national drinks were produced for the amount of 1.8 billion soms, which is 20.1% more than in the same period last year.

Earlier it was reported that the number of migrants from Kyrgyzstan in Russia had halved.
