Foreign woman with fake Kazakh passport tries to fly into Astana

A foreign woman attempting to enter Kazakhstan by using a fake Kazakh passport was detained at the Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports citing the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The case has been transferred to the police for further action.

“A total of 198 instances of individuals using invalid and foreign passports have been terminated at checkpoints by border guards since the beginning of 2024,” the message reads.

The Border Service of the NSC informs that border violations with the use of forged documents incur criminal liability.

Earlier, Kazakhstani border guards identified 935 individuals with dual citizenship. 12 foreigners were expelled from the country.
