Former Soviet goalkeeper Vladimir Maslachenko dies
MOSCOW. November 29. KAZINFORM Former Soviet national football team goalkeeper Vladimir Maslachenko, who later became a renowned television commentator, died on Sunday at the age of 74. Kazinform refers to RIA Novosti.
Ukrainian-born Maslachenko, who had played for Spartak Moscow and had been named the Soviet Union's best goalkeeper in 1961, suffered a stroke on November 18.
President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin expressed their condolences to the near and dear of the football legend.
