Former TURKSOY Secretary General Dusen Kasseinov elected as ICTMD ambassador

Dusen Kasseinov’s nomination was unanimously backed by the Executive Board and the members of the 48th world conference for the International Council for Traditions of Music and Dance (ICTMD), Kazinform News Agency reports.

In Wellington, New Zealand, the session of the General Assembly of the 48th ICTM World Congress elected the leadership and members to the Executive Board.

Kazakhstan’s Dusen Kasseinov, who previously served as TURKSOY Secretary General, was elected to the new leadership role as ICTMD ambassador.

Kasseinov’s election as ICTMD ambassador highlights the significant role Kazakhstan and other TURKSOY member countries play in promoting international cooperation in culture and art.

Kasseinov’s diverse and long experience in promoting international cultural cooperation, scientific projects, preserving the cultural heritage of Turkic nations and its popularization in the world’s cultural space significantly contributed to the promotion of the ICTMD goals and missions, said Svanibor Pettan, ICTMD President.

Earlier it was reported that Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu had received newly-appointed Ambassador of China to Kazakhstan Han Chunlin.
