Ex-Vice Minister of National Economy suspected of killing his wife detained
Police detained Kazakhstan’s ex-vice minister of national economy Kuandyk Bishimbayev on suspicion of murdering his wife in one of the restaurants in Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports.
Saken Sarssenov, deputy minister of interior, confirmed the detention of Bishimbayev, but declined to comment further.
Additional information will be provided later, he said.
According to mass media reports on November 9, the woman, born in 1992, was Kuandyk Bishimbayev’s third wife. He allegedly beat her to death in a restaurant in the Kazakh capital. The woman died from bodily injuries before the ambulance arrived.
