Four Russians die in fire in Kazakhstan – Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. November 11. KAZINFORM. Four Russian citizens died in a fire at the unfinished vegetable storage area in Astana, Kazakhstan, on November 9, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The fire killed 14 people, among them four Russian citizens, the ministry said. Presumably, the Russians were installing refrigerators by contract with a local company.
"Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev presented condolences to families of the victims and ordered the prosecutor general to investigate the fire and to punish the culprits. He also ordered the Astana mayor to render moral and material support to families of the victims and people injured in the fire," the ministry said. "In addition, the president ordered the Kazakh Interior Ministry to consider assistance to families of the Russians killed in the fire"; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
