France supports Kazakhstan’s initiative to hold OSCE summit

ASTANA. December 29. KAZINFORM Chairman of Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev received Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan Jean-Charles Berthonnet.

The parties certified dynamic development of Kazakhstan-French relations, trust-based and friendly character of contacts between leaders of two countries - Nursultan Nazarbayev and Nicolas Sarkozy; the press-service of the Senate said.

"Several past years turned out to be significant in term of activation of cooperation between our countries. France has become the first European country with which a historic Treaty on Partnership was signed in 2008", - K. Tokayev said.

He informed of the Kazakh Parliament's activity underlining that the experience of the highest legislative body of France was used at its establishment. He invited the speaker of the French Senate to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan and French parliamentarians to take part in upcoming TransAsian Parliamentary Forum.

In his turn Jean-Charles Berthonnet emphasized that France supports Kazakhstan's initiative to hold OSCE summit next year and wished our country success in upcoming chairmanship in the authoritative international organization.
