France’s major museum acquires work by artist couple from Kazakhstan
Museums and private collectors show strong interest to works by Kazakhstan painters, Kazinform News Agency reports.
For instance, the works by Kazakhstani painter Alpysbay Kazgulov can be found in the collections of Patricia Kaas (‘Playing in space’), Gérard Depardieu (‘The Great Silk Road’) and Prince Lorenz of Belgium (‘Baikonur’).
In 2023, “The Artist is Asleep” work by the artist couple Yelena and Viktor Vorobyev was acquired by one of the major French museums - the National Georges Pompidou Centre of Art and Culture.
"Evermust” by Zoya Falkova bought by Spanish businessman Tatxo Benet in 2021 is now exhibited at the Museum of Prohibited Art in Barcelona.
The works by Kazakhstani Reshat Kozhakhmetov also draw strong interest abroad, as his works can be found in the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art in Cairo, Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park in Japan. Among Kazakhstani painters gaining ground abroad are Almagul Menlibayeva and Yerbossyn Meldibekov.
To note, the President of Kazakhstan will pay a state visit to France on November 4-5, where he plans to engage in high-level meetings. The leaders of both countries intend to hold talks focused on strengthening cooperation and discussing the international and regional agenda.
