Frosts and snowstorms to engulf south of Kazakhstan
Mercury will plunge to -20 degrees Celsius in the city of Shymkent and Turkistan region, Kazinform News Agency reports.
The cold snap and biting winds engulfing the region will cause increasingly challenging weather conditions.
Snowstorms with mercury reading -4-6 degrees Celsius and high wind gusting 15-20, 25 m/s replaced rains in Shymkent. On January 23 the city will brace for snowfall. Air temperature will fall to -8-10 degrees Celsius during the daytime.
Rain and snow are forecast to grip Turkistan region with snowstorms and ice-slick predicted locally. High wind gusts will speed up to 20 m/s, sometimes 23-28m/s.
As earlier reported, heavy snowstorms and gusting wind paralyzed the Kazakh capital on Tuesday.
