ALMATY. KAZINFORM - Unlike other major international events, "EXPO-2017" will last for three months, this has been announced today at the international seminar "Future energy: effective energy use" by the director of the International Relations Department of "NC "Astana EXPO-2017" JSC Nurbek Yergeshbayev.

"The exhibition is a big step in the establishment of our independent state. We conducted major events such as the OSCE summit which ran only three days. However, EXPO-2017 will run for three months, that is why it is a big challenge for us", said N.Yergeshbayev. He said that today has been launched the "zero stage" of the project. Basic work is planned to be completed by the yearend. "We want to attract about 100 states and 10 international organizations that are in some way involved in the work. We plan to take about five million visitors. The aim of the exhibition is to show today's leading technology in the field of energy", said N.Yergeshbayev. The seminar was held in support of one of the sub-themes of "EXPO-2017" - "Energy-efficient lifestyle". Activities to promote the other two sub-themes - "Reducing CO2 emissions" and "Energy for everyone" will be held before the end of the year in Berlin and Astana.
