Gaddafi's troops enter western suburbs of Benghazi
CAIRO. March 19. KAZINFORM The army units loyal to Muammar al-Gaddafi entered Benghazi on Saturday, which is the main stronghold of the insurgents east of Tripoli. The troops are moving from the west to the residential areas of the second largest city of the Libyan Jamahiriya, Al-Jazeera TV Channel of Qatar reports; Kazinform refers to Itar-Tass.
The attack was preceded by massive shelling. A number of air strikes were dealt. Warplanes are now flying over Benghazi.
According to the information of Al-Jazeera, hundreds of people flee from the city in the direction of Tobruk, situated close to the border with Egypt. No reports have come about casualties so far; Kazinform cites Itar-Tass.
