Gas explosion kills child in N Kazakhstan

A gas explosion started a house fire in Smirnovo village in North Kazakhstan region. As a result of the blast, a 12-year-old girl was killed, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The gas explosion reportedly happened on the 2^nd floor of the house in the village at 14:50 pm local time. It severely damaged the house.

A 22-year-old man was rushed to a hospital from the scene. 9 people were evacuated.

The fire was extinguished only by 17:03 pm.
