Gas explosion rocks former mosque in Akmola region: 17 hospitalized
The Department of Public Health of Astana has announced that 17 people, including 3 children, who sustained various injuries in a gas explosion at a former mosque in Sabyndy village in the Akmola region, have been taken to city hospitals, Kazinform News Agency reports.
"Seven of those injured are currently receiving intensive care, while seven others have been admitted to the department of polytrauma, endoprosthesis and combustiology at Astana city hospital No. 1. The preliminary diagnosis is thermal flame burns of various degrees. Three children, who sustained thermal burns of 25-30%, have been admitted to the intensive care unit of City Children's Hospital No. 2 in Astana” the department reports.
All patients were promptly examined. “Those injured are provided with all necessary medical care, information on the dynamics of the patients' condition will be updated,” the Department of Public Health of Astana added.
Recall that today, November 17, a gas explosion occurred in the village of Sabyndy in Korgalzhyn district, resulting in the deaths of three people.
