Gas pipeline in Atyrau rgn to be transferred back into state ownership

The economic demonopolization commission chaired by Kazakh Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov focused on the recovery of illegally obtained commercial gas transportation assets, Kazinform News Agency cites the primeminister.kz.

The Prosecutor General’s Office detected that in 2021 a private company acquired in Atyrau region a gas pipeline with a length of above 200 meters at an understated price with numerous breaches.

Following the session, the commission agreed to refer to the court to annul the gas pipeline deal and take back it into state ownership. The pipeline will be further used for the transportation of gas to large industrial enterprises in the region.
