Gennady GGG Golovkin TKOs Martin Murray in 11th round

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - WBA/IBO/WBC interim middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (32-0, 29 KOs) scored an eleventh round TKO over WBC #1 rated Martin Murray (29-2-1, 12 KOs) on Saturday night at the Salle des Étoiles in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

That was 32nd win for the 32-year-old Kazakh boxer. The fight between Golovkin and Murray was opened by a well known American ring announcer Michael Buffer and his trademarked catchphrase "Let's get ready to rumble!".

Golovkin, as expected, from the first minute, was taking the center of the ring to control the match. In the first round Kazakh boxer managed to inflict some strong direct blows to the head and body of the British.

In the second round Gennady began to actively attack. Murray gets a talking to for pushing Golovkin down, he doesn't want to be docked a point.

The third round was also held under the dictation of Kazakhstan's boxer. In the middle of the fourth round Golovkin crushed Murray with a blow to the liver, after which the Briton was knocked down. Murray was on his skates and he was given a break by the referee.

In the next segment of the match Kazakh boxer continued to dominate on the ring. Murray with a sweet left hook, though, before Golovkin dug a right into the body. A couple of scything lefts from Golovkin skewered Murray on the ropes before Murray comes back with a left of his own.

After the devastating attacks of Golovkin the referee stopped the bout in the 11th round, registering a technical knockout. The Kazakh boxer has won. For Golovkin, that was his 19th straight win within the distance and 29th knockout in 32 fights. For Murray, that was his first knockout defeat and he falls to 29 wins and two losses from 32 pro fights.
