Gennady Golovkin participates in Kazakh National Olympic Committee GA session

Well-known boxer Gennady Golokin is set to participate in the session of the General Assembly of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Participants of the session are expected to elect new president of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Legendary Kazakhstani boxer Nurzhan Karimzhanov commented on the rumors that Golovkin might be elected as the new president of the National Olympic Committee.

Karimzhanov admitted it is no secret that sport in Kazakhstan has hit a rough patch. In his words, since Golovkin is admired and respected both as an athlete and a person, his appointment is on the cards.
